Taking the holistic approach to helping your aging pets is almost as much work as having a child. Bennie, with her lack of emotional and physical issues, isn't really much work. But Hobbes is a whole new story. Here is a low down of her current care:
1. She now gets drops of Flower Essences in her water daily. 3 drops of Anxiety, 3 drops of Showcats, and (as soon as it arrives) 3 drops of Abandonment & Abuse. This is supposed to address her anxiety, aggression, and based on her chakra alignment, address her sadness, grief, and clogged emotional center.
2. She is no longer eating IAMS. She now eats a meat-based dry cat food, plus she gets moist cat food twice a day (to help with dehydration). The first flavor I introduced them to was Venison and Brown Rice. I like the mental picture of the cats tackling a deer and munching on some venison.
3. Hobbes also gets a special "dinner plate." This consists of a scoop of Omega-3 rich fish (to help with her arthritis), some coconut oil (which she has been avoiding on the first 3 days), and 1 tsp of milk with drops from 4 herbal tinctures to help with her FHS.
Bennie actually gets all of the same stuff (need it or not) except the milk with the tinctures, since she isn't having seizures. If nothing else, I'm hoping that the work required to take care of Hobbes will encourage me to take better care of myself...
